Veterinary Care for Monterey Area Birds, Reptiles, Pocket Pets & Exotics
Not just a care center for cats and dogs, Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center is a special place for birds, reptiles, and pocket pets too! These unique pets are in good hands with our veterinarians, who are able to provide them with the complete care they need to remain in good health.
Veterinary Services for Birds & Exotic Pets
Much variation exists within this group of patients. Birds have their own set of requirements for effective care, while the term "exotics" is very broad and encompasses many kinds of animals. Reptiles, amphibians, and pocket pets, such as hamsters and guinea pigs, all fall into this large and diverse category as well. Because each pet has unique needs and risks based on age, breed, and living environment, care for birds and exotics varies widely from patient to patient.
Our veterinarians are able to provide a range of basic and advanced services to meet all your bird or exotic pet's individual needs. These include:
- Routine physical exams
- Wellness care and prevention
- Wing clipping
- General surgery
- Resources for owners and articles, such as the ASPCA guide to basic bird care
